The Vedder River is still high at this point but I wanted to take a peek at part of the lower flow to see what has changed. I will fly other parts of the river in coming weeks to see how things have changed since the major storm event that moved through here recently. Extensive flooding in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope and all surrounding areas has changed the landscape. The BC floods of 2021 aren’t over yet.

The Vedder River, called the Chilliwack River above Vedder Crossing, is a river in the Canadian province of British Columbia and the U.S. state of Washington. The name Chilliwack comes from the Halkomelem word Tcil’Qe’uk, meaning “valley of many streams”.
